Comparison of Dual-Combustion Ramjet and Scramjet Performances Considering Combustion Efficiency

چکیده

The performances of a dual-combustion ramjet (DCR) and scramjet were compared via computational fluid dynamics numerical simulation to provide theoretical guidance for engine selection hypersonic vehicle. Kerosene, C12H23, with an equivalence ratio 0.8, was employed as the fuel, reactive flow modeled using six-species four-step chemistry. results show that DCR has central combustion mode, which smaller temperature gradient more uniform heat release, resulting in higher efficiency, near-wall mode scramjet. total pressure recovery coefficient is 0.9% lower than under Ma6 condition, but 5.6% Ma7 condition. efficiency 35.6% 25.4% conditions, respectively. decrease caused by increase dissociation rate CO2 into CO temperature. performance better both conditions. However, advantage decreases Mach number increases. Specifically, conditions Ma7, specific impulse or thrust 2.67 times 1.51 scramjet,

Scramjet Combustion Processes

Research into hypersonic flow phenomona has been conducted by numerous groups within Australia for over 40 years. The genesis of all the modern day work can be traced back to the return of the then Dr Ray Stalker from England, to take a faculty position in the Physics Department of the Australian National University, Canberra, in 1962. Dr Stalker had a keen interest in the aerodynamics of bodie...

Comparison of Performances for Air-Standard Atkinson and Dual Combustion Cycles with Heat Transfer Considerations

There are heat losses during the cycle of real engine that are neglected in ideal air-standard analysis. In this paper, the effect of heat transfer on the net output work is shown and thermal efficiency of the air-standard Atkinson and the Dual combustion cycles are analyzed. Comparison of performances of the air-standard Atkinson and the Dual combustion cycles with heat transfer considerations...

Homogeneous oxidation of mercury during combustion: A comparison between combustion in air and oxy-combustion

Since oxy-combustion is a relatively new technology, many problems associated with the behavior of coal in this novel combustion process still need to be solved. In particular, there is a lack of knowledge regarding the behavior of toxic trace elements, and there is a need to determine whether trace element distribution among the by-products and emissions to the environment, is comparable with ...
